About me

I'm Louise, a York-based (but fully remote!) virtual assistant (VA) and business owner.

I've spent the past 15 years working hard to build up my skills and experience within different areas of business.

I always knew I eventually wanted to work for myself; being a VA seemed like such an obvious choice for me due to the experience I've amassed, plus the fact I love helping others and am highly organised. At the end of 2020, I decided to leave full-time employment, finally taking the plunge and setting up my own businesses. As well as running Louise B Virtual Business Support, I also have a small online shop which I run alongside it.

Key skills and experience

14 years' experience in admin, sales, marketing and customer service

Five years' experience in project management and people management

Sectors I've worked in include social housing, training, events, consultancy, memberships, retail and manufacture.

Competent proofreader and transcriptionist.

Experienced user of various software platforms including WordPress, Shopify, Canva, Mailchimp and Microsoft Office (I'm also a quick learner when it comes to software I've not used before!).

PRINCE2 Foundation

Diploma in Marketing

Have completed, and am currently undertaking, various courses with the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading
